Simon, I badly need to look at dictation/transcription as a writing method because of joint pain. Any app in particular you recommend? I have android BTW. Ali B
Hi Ali, I'm on the Apple ecosystem, so I use the built-in dictation on my iPhone and iMac. I'm sure Google has something similar on Android. If it's built-in to the operating system it means you can dictate into nearly any programmme/app you use on your device. Just having a quick look online, it seems there's an app called Gboard on android that allows you to do this. It may already be installed on your device, if not it can be downloaded from the Google Play Store. (I found this link that explains how to set it up on a phone: https://www.notta.ai/en/blog/how-do-i-activate-voice-to-text-on-android) Hope that helps.
Thanks! For starters I've just activated something on my Samsung (Notta) which is simple voice to text for any keyboard function. It's way better than voice to text software I tried a few years ago. I 'dictated' a letter fairly quickly and didn't mind doing some tidying afterwards. Hopefully it will get better as I go along and/or I can try Gboard. :)
